Arjen:

"'Back on planet earth' depicts the existential crisis of a young boy (perhaps the Mars Colonist?) who was born and raised on a space station. The station's inhabitants have lost their emotions, but the boy overhears the elders reminiscing about the old days when they still lived on earth. Intrigued, the boy searches his computer for imformation about earth. He learns of human emotions and discovers wondrous images of earth's once pristine natural beauty. He also finds out that earth was destroyed by wars and environmental disasters; the only way mankind could survive was to abandon earth and venture into space. The boy mourns for what has been lost, and realizes that he would rather have died experiencing life on earth than be left alive on the cold space station."

- Virtual reality -
- Actual fantasy -

I overheared the elders
Telling eachother stories
About the days when they were young
Back on planet earth

I wish to learn the secrets
Of those who lived before me
So I program my computer
For a flight to planet earth

Blue skies over the oceans
Sail on the wind to the valley below
Rise high over the hills
To where the wild flowers grow

And I ride, ride, ride
The waves of time
Fly, fly, fly, beyond the sky

We've abandoned all emotions
Whether good or bad
Up here in this station
Far from planet earth

I can't tell if I'm happy
I don't know if I'm sad
But I do know I'd have been at home
Back on planet earth

Black clouds over the debris
Storm is raging over the land
No life left on this planet
Now you will understand

And I ride, ride, ride
The waves of time (Ad libs - Robert)
Fly, fly, fly, beyond the sky (Ad libs - Robert)

It's been called the fate of a dreamer (Ad libs - Astrid)

Blue skies over the oceans
Sail on the wind to the valley below
Rise high over the hills
To where the wild flowers grow

(Ad libs - Robert)
